Cars overview
Understand the vehicle workflows available from the Cars section of the dashboard.
The Cars section is the operational center of your facility dashboard. Every vehicle your team stores, services, or tracks lives here as a car record — connecting the vehicle to its owner, parking spot, billing history, event activity, documents, photos, and notes.

What you can do from Cars
- Add a car — create a vehicle record with or without a photo walkthrough so your team can start tracking it immediately.
- View and edit vehicle details — update make, model, year, color, VIN, license plate, insurance, mileage, fuel level, declared value, and customer ownership from a single detail page.
- Move a car — assign or change the vehicle's parking spot or facility zone so the record always matches the physical floor plan.
- Start a session or event — kick off an intake, inspection, delivery, photo walkthrough, or any custom event type your team has configured.
- Review activity history — see every past and upcoming event, session, and status change on the car's timeline.
Finding cars quickly
The Cars list supports search, filters, and two view modes so you can find the right vehicle fast:
- Search — type any part of the make, model, year, VIN, plate, stock number, or customer name. The search bar parses your query and shows removable filter chips for detected tokens like year.
- Table view — a sortable, column-customizable table with inline editing support. Show or hide columns for declared value, insurance expiration, service plan status, parking spot, customer phone, and more.
- Card view — a responsive grid of vehicle cards with thumbnail photos, useful on smaller screens or when browsing visually. See Find and filter cars for how to switch views.
- Filters — narrow the list by facility location, make, model, color, year range, for-sale status, insurance status, service plan, and tags.

The car detail page
Click any vehicle to open its detail page. This single page is the source of truth for everything about the car:
- Header — vehicle title, thumbnail photo, and quick-action buttons for Assign location (parking) and Event (schedule a new event).
- Vehicle Activity — a timeline of all past and upcoming events, sessions, and status changes.
- Notes — internal team notes visible only to staff.
- Photos — the latest photos from walkthroughs and sessions, with a full gallery view.
- Vehicle Details — all identifying information (make, model, year, VIN, plate, color, trim, stock number, key number), customer link, service plans, insurance, declared value, fuel level, mileage, and market data.
