More accurate discount accounting

A ten-percent coupon should not disappear when the invoice hits the books.

Why we built it

Stripe stores promotion codes and coupons in total discount amounts, not always as separate product lines. Early accounting sync sometimes pushed pre-discount subtotals, so QuickBooks Online and Xero did not match the customer invoice or tax base. More accurate discount accounting maps those discounts explicitly—DiscountLineDetail in QBO (with Apply tax after discount when needed) and labeled negative lines in Xero—using the same helpers as Clearer invoice discounts and totals. Sync metadata tracks when discounts are included, and engines can re-push invoices that were synced before coupon lines were mapped.

After month-end, spot-check a few coupon invoices in QBO or Xero against the Stripe PDF. If an old invoice predates discount mapping, open sync history and confirm a later run re-pushed it—or manually trigger sync from your integration settings if your workflow allows.
