Product update
Flexible QuickBooks Desktop exports
Download the standard QuickBooks Desktop import file or an Excel spreadsheet for the same date range so bookkeepers can review before importing.

Bookkeepers should be able to sanity-check a month in Excel before touching the company file.
Why we built it
QuickBooks Desktop export already produced IIF files for import, but some teams wanted a human-readable pass first—spot-check customers, invoice totals, and tax lines without opening QuickBooks. Flexible QuickBooks Desktop exports add an Excel spreadsheet download for the same date range alongside the standard IIF file, so finance can reconcile in a spreadsheet, fix mapping questions, then import when ready.
Who it is for
- Bookkeepers and owners still on QuickBooks Desktop (not live QuickBooks Online sync).
- Teams that enabled export from Self-serve accounting integrations or Connect accounting integrations.
- Staff who already use QuickBooks Desktop export and want a review step before File → Import.
What you can do
- Pick a date range and preview export summary counts before downloading.
- Download QuickBooks Desktop IIF for import into the company file.
- Download Excel spreadsheet (.xlsx) with the same billing data for review or side-by-side reconciliation.
- Save account name mappings (A/R, income, undeposited funds, sales tax payable) so IIF imports match your chart of accounts.
How it fits your day
Run the spreadsheet export at month-end, share it with your accountant, then pull the IIF once numbers look right. For continuous sync, use QuickBooks Online integration instead of file handoffs.
Get started
Open Settings → Integrations, enable QuickBooks Desktop export, choose your date range, and download Excel once to compare against your last closed period before you import the IIF.
