Why we built it

Invoices often combine line items, promotion discounts, tax, and processing fees—especially when facilities pass card or ACH costs through to the customer. Clearer invoice discounts and totals improves how those pieces appear on staff previews, customer checkout, and invoice documents: discounts read as their own lines, fees apply in a consistent order, and amount due matches what payment will actually collect. Billing staff catch mistakes at finalize time; customers see the same math on mobile pay links.

What you can do

• Review subtotal, discount, tax, processing fee, and total on draft invoices before Finalize invoice.
• Send or charge with Flexible invoice finalization and scheduled charges knowing the preview matches the customer link.
• Explain fees calmly on support calls—the checkout total reflects the method the customer selects when fees vary by card vs bank.
• Use Void, credit, or correct an invoice when a discount or fee was wrong after send—not informal line edits on open bills without policy.

How it fits your day

Promotions and pass-through fees are business choices; the product job is to show them explicitly so nobody argues about hidden math. If a customer paid by cash and should not owe processing fees, issue a credit processing fees only credit note per Review a customer invoice.
