Smoother Android staff app

The staff dashboard on Android should feel like an app—not a browser that exits on the first back press.

Why we built it

The Android staff app wraps the same dashboard you use on the web. Three friction points showed up in the field: the system back button closed the app instead of walking back through dashboard pages; PDF invoices and exported reports opened to a blank WebView (Android cannot render PDFs inline); and edge-to-edge layouts let bottom buttons sit under the gesture navigation bar. The native shell now routes back through WebView history, sends .pdf links to Chrome or Drive with Linking.openURL, and applies safe-area insets on the top and bottom edges on Android so controls stay tappable.

What you can do

• Press Back to leave a car, contact, or invoice and return to the previous dashboard screen instead of leaving the app.
• Tap a PDF link; Android opens it in your installed viewer with a readable document.
• Use bottom actions on full-screen phones without the nav bar covering primary buttons.
• Keep using pull to refresh and push notifications in the same staff shell.

How it fits your day

Walk the lot with the staff app open, drill into a vehicle, then hit Back to return to Cars. When billing sends a PDF invoice, open it from Payments; the file should appear in Chrome or your PDF app instead of a white screen.

Get started

Install or update the staff app from Google Play, open Dashboard, navigate two screens deep, and confirm Back returns one level. Then open any invoice PDF and verify an external viewer launches.
